It’s that time of year for photographing Bainbridge High School Seniors. Blake and his Mom met me at one of our beautiful local parks for his senior portrait session. Blake is so easy going and we got a large selection of amazing photographs in one of my quickest photo shoots ever. (Blake wanted to get to open gym – so we made it happen) I love that Blake’s Mom came too, had to get one of them together!

Michelle contacted me to take her babies first year photographs including her maternity session with her family. For our first photo shoot we met at Fay Bainbridge to capture the expecting Mom and her little boy and husband. I am so excited to meet the newest member of the family very soon!
Just like every mom I love to take photographs of my babies.
I have a lot of people ask me for advice about how to take better photos of their children using their own cameras. Here are a few tips that I like to share –
1. Turn off the flash and use a room in your home with a lot of natural light. Or even better go outside, but keep in mind that lighting is best in the early morning or late afternoon.
2. Think about the backgrounds. Keep it simple with solid colors or natural settings.
3. If you have an SLR, but not sure how to use it. Try selecting the portrait setting which is still automatic, but will choose the best shutter speed and aperture for this type of photography.
4. Have fun. Your baby will react to laughing and silly faces with smiles and excitement in their eyes.
